Is it just me, or does anyone else struggle to entertain the children after homeschooling, that does not include screen time? I recently saw a few pins on Pinterest, that encouraged creating games that included Lego, so I decided to try the game on my mad bunch!
I just started off with a scrap piece of card that I had lying around the house and I drew a snake like shape and segmented it off into sections. I wanted enough to keep the children engaged but not too many that they would get bored!
I then coloured the sections in different colours and added different numbers from 0-5, this included plus and minus, meaning that the children would have to take pieces away if they landed on the minus numbers.

Then we pulled out the lego box, everyone chose a Lego character and off we went, we rolled the dice to see how many spaces we would move and we moved around the board, until a player crossed the finish line and then we all counted how many pieces we had collected along the way to declare the Winner!
The game was definitely a hit with my bunch, they became so competitive by the 3rd game and realised that the lower the numbers on the dice, the slower they moved across the board and the more pieces they would gain and possibly win!
I would definitely recommend creating something like this for your children, it was a hit for us. Next time I am going to do a times table one for the older ones, learning while they play, WIN-WIN!
Thank you for coming along and reading my blog. Hope to see you again soon.
